While there has been a great deal of rebuilding and restoration in Beirut, pretty much everything in this part of town bears the acne of warfare to some degree or another. There remain a number of spectacularly shot-out buildings, some of whose skeletons are occupied nonetheless. Judging by the spray patterns many of the belligerents were not particularly good shots.
